“I’m off today but then I work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.”
“I’m going to quit the coffee shop once I start my new schedule.”
“Maybe it’s just me”
“I think it’s just you”
“You can’t always depend on that”

Setting: In the bathroom of home, two sisters are getting ready for the day while conversing about the day ahead.
Hannah enters bathroom first. Turns on straightener and gets out makeup bag.
Maggie enters.
Maggie: Where have you been all week?
Hannah: Things have been crazy at work. Tim quit the shop so I’ve had to pick up almost all his shifts. I’m off today but then I work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Maggie: Extra shifts equals extra money right?

Maggie starts to brush her hair next to Hannah.
Hannah: I guess. What really bothers me is that I feel like my manager expects me to pick them up. No, “Hey Hannah, do you mind picking up these shifts?” He just assumes that I’ll cover them.
Maggie: Don’t you think that’s a good thing? That he knows you’re reliable and willing to do it.
Hannah: You can’t always depend on that.
Hannah: I’m going to quit the coffee shop once I start my new schedule.
Maggie stops what she is doing and shoots a confused glance at Hannah in response to her statement.
Maggie: Quit? Why?

Hannah: Because I don’t appreciate not being appreciated at my job.
Maggie: (In stern tone) Then tell them that and make it known. You are rather sensitive to these kind of things, Hannah. You’re an adult and this is a job. Take everything that happens and what is said with a grain of salt. You should really try to not take everything to heart.
Hannah looks deep into mirror at herself.
Hannah: Maybe it’s just me.
Maggie: I think it’s just you.
Maggie exits and leaves Hannah in bathroom to ponder discussion.
